Markbass LM-II: enclosure buzzing!?

hi, another markbass thread, but this time I am asking if the problem I´ll explain below is a common problem with the LM-II?

so, I found a LM-II in a used instruments store for 3/4 of the price of a new one.. I took it home to try it with my cabs and when I turn the volume past 12 o´clock it starts to buzz. I comes from the enclosure of the amp, as far as I could determine. "muting" the enclosure stops teh buzz.
I opened it and everything seems ok on the inside, all screws are tight - so my conclusion ist that it could be the front plate vibrating against the side plates. When I had the amp open I noticed that the frontplate can be moved back for half a mm...?

I'm actually having the same problem with my Eden WT550. It sucks, because the actual tone of the amp is great, but the noise from the rattling is too annoying to bear. I now have to send it in for repair, and will likely be without it for quite a while.

ok, thanks for all the answers! after closer inspection I know it´s buzzing when I put the amp on the speaker the way it´s supposed to be - if I put it top facing down, buzzing stops. I´ll return it and see if I can get it for half price...

do you think it can hurt the amp playing it upside down?

Your music might come out backwards, but otherwise...

No seriously. some amps use the top-plate as a heat dispensor, so you should feel in normal situations if the top is getting hot while playing. If not, no problem turning it upside down as far as I know.

In the Markbass CMD 210 combo, the head is a LMII, though badged as "combo head." (The circuit board inside has "LMII" printed on it.) If you slide it out of the combo enclosure, it has an open top, i.e., the components normally have the wood of the enclosure above them. So I'm pretty sure the LMII proper doesn't use it's top as a heat-sink.
