I'm prbibly going to get a rash of hate mail for this one but....
My band got an offer for a steady (once a week) gig doing a kareoke style night. They basicly want us to be the backing band instead of having a DJ just spin disks. Now while my initial reaction to this was to barf, I'm thinking this might have some potential... as long as we don't take it too seriously.
My question is: Does anyone else do this type of a gig? If so, how do you run the night? Do you use a video monitor for the lyrics, or just let the person "wing it"?
Like I said, I was hesitent at first about this gig, but the more I think about it, the more fun I think it would be. Plus it will be a great chance for me to expend my song list.
Let me know what you all think.
