Here we have a Sadowsky Metro RV5 in near-mint condition WITH VTC CONTROL and original case. Olympic White, Tort guard, morado fingerboard.
I just bought this bass off another TB'er last week. After one gig and many hours of practice time with it I've decided that
I'm not going to keep it.
It's an amazing bass. Best J-bass I've ever played. Has THE Sadowsky tone. Nails that sizzly, modern J-bass vibe but can be quite warm as well due to the VTC. Action is low with no buzzing. Even though I love this bass I've decided that I really just prefer more modern basses with a heavier midrange emphasis. This is a great bass, just not really my cup o tea. I'd really like to keep it but I probably wouldn't give it the play time that it deserves.
It's in extremely good shape. There's some typical swirling on the pickguard and one small ding about an inch from the output jack (which I really doubt I'd be successful at photographing). Other than that, it's spotless.
It has the VTC control with which I seriously would not want to be without on a Sadowsky. It gives you a huge amount of tonal flexibility.
I'd really just prefer to trade this on something I'll get more use out of, but I'd be open to selling it as well.
PRICE IS $1750 shipped (CONUS only). I think that's a very fair price. It's what I paid for the bass and I will not go any lower. I'll take Paypal or USPS money order. It will be shipped by whatever is cheapest (UPS, FedEx Ground, or USPS Priority Mail).
PLEASE, run your trades by me. I will only consider basses that are of fairly similar value. In other words, don't ask if you can trade your SX or Brice for this!
I'm looking for a modern, boutique bass.
Off the top of my head, here are some ones that I'd consider:
Roscoe
Warrior
Zon (soapbar-equipped models only)
Modulus Q (chechen board, Barts only)
Modulus Genesis
Pedulla (MVP or Thunderbass)
Elrick
Benavente
Cliff Bordwell
Skjold
Stambaugh
Warwick (older SSI only)
MTD
Pre-Gibson Tobias
There are probably a ton of others I'd consider, but you get the general idea.
Run 'em by me. Worst I could do is say that I'm not interested.
Here are some pics taken by the previous owner (these pics are a lot better than what I could do)
