So I'm thinking about getting a new '08 Fender Precision 5-string

I must admit I am also very intrigued. I have been looking for a nice 2nd gigging bass (to go with my NYC Sadowsky 24F5) and I have been wanting to get a passive P-bass. Since I play only 5-strings this option has not been available. The magazine review also indicates the P5 is only 8.5 lbs which is very decent.

There may be a Olympic White P5 in my future. :bassist:

EDIT: After consulting with the wife it will have to be the 3-tone burst. :)

I played one of these today and was thoroughly unimpressed. The fit and finish was all great. EADG sounded great, like a P bass is supposed to. The b string was floppy as all get out. Now I know why so many people don't like 34" scale 5's... Guess I'm spoiled are got lucky with my ray 5.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great bass. But what's the point of the 5 over the 4 if the B string is crap?
