Lakland 55-01 pickup replacement - your opinions?

I've got a Lakland 55-01, which comes stock with a Korean made Bartolini MK-1 preamp and Korean made Bartolini MK-1 pickups. I want to replace the pickups and preamp. I know I want to use an Audere "Classic Bass" or 3ZB preamp but I'm not sure about the pickups.

Possible candidates:

Bartolini MK5's - in their "Classic Bass Series"

Norstrand Big Split pups

Norstrand Fat Stack pups

Any opinions on this? Anybody use these pickups? How do they sound?

Thanks!

I am half way through changing my pups and pre to Nordy Fat Stacks and Aguilar OBP3 pre. This combination seems to have great reviews for this bass so I am taking the plunge. I will be wiring the pups both with their own switch to change from hum-cancelling to single coil and will see if I can get a switch for active/passive put in as well. When I say say, "i will be wiring", I do mean getting a pro to do it!

Cheers!

how did this work out? what other soapbars fit the lakland 55-01 bridge and neck position...anybody know?

l like everything about by 55-01 except the slightly noisy pre (has been upgraded to the newer LH pre). Thinking about going passive with hotter pups. Also thinking about inquiring about having them sell me a fretless neck for this bass.
