Hey guys. How about a new thread discussing the new 2008 and up Fender USA Basses ? Since there were significant changes in the 2008 models, it might be fun to discuss the pros/cons . I have one. A 2008 Jazz that I could not be happier with althoughb it had a horrible setup on it when I got it. I had to adjust the truss rod alot! I also had to center the neck pickup as it was off about 3/32" to one side. This involved plugging the old mounting holes in the bottom of the pickup cavity and redrilling a new set. Very simple. The neck is just outstanding. The tone is huge, full, and deep. One change I dont like is the thin finish. I think alot of players got what they asked for but, you have to really be careful with it becasue it chips and dings VERY easily. I wasnt crazy about the new SKB case either so, I opted for an old-school Fedner tweed case for mine. Anyway, I know there are a lot of thread here that refer to the new Fenders but, it would be so much easier to keep everything in one thread so, lets get it started! :hyper:Lets see some pictures too ! I'll get pics of mine as soon as I get a new battery for my camera....At least I hope that's what's wrong with it anyway. I don't want to have to buy a whole new camera.

Mine's an '08 Blizzard Pearl P Bass that was the window model and sat in the front window of the store for a few months. It went from a silvery pearl (which you can still see under the PG) to sort of a ginger ale color. I love it!

Here's my new '08 MIA Jazz. (I'll post some better pics when I have the chance.)

Initial impressions? What a great bass! I bought it from GC. It was their 'special' for this week's promotion, having already been knocked down for their post T'giving sale.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or not (hence the plastic on pick-guard and tuners) but I couldn't leave it hanging on the wall at the price: an 'MIA' for less than a 'MIM'! If I do keep it, I'm going to stick either a black pearl or mirror guard on it.

BTW I love the SKB case so, Fender4Me, if you've still got the SKB case I'd be interested in buying it from you; I could do with a new case for my P!
