heaven... i'm in heaven (gk mb2-500 content)

well guys,

i've been working on a new compact setup and yesterday the missing pieces came.

october 30th i ordered a "blemished" (turned out to be new) gk mb2-500 from music123 (see second post for info on this).

november 3rd i bought a gk 112 neo from craig off the TB classifieds.

the cab showed up on the 10th via fedex from the left coast. and i've been waiting... and waiting... and waiting for my gk mb2-500. finally, yesterday (december 15th) my head shows up. here's the setup.

it does everything i could ask it to do. yes, i would like to get another 112 (or even a 2x12) to go under my setup but this will do all i have need for.

while i was waiting for my head to arrive i worked out a deal to get a 5-string spector rebop from 1960LesPaul (on TB classifieds).

i was expecting the head to show up in january and heard something get dropped off at my door yesterday. thought it was my bass but it was too early for it to show up. look out and the box is too small for a bass. thought my wife ordered something. get it inside, open the box and realize it's my amp. at that time i hear something else get dropped off on my porch. it's my bass. i was like a giddy little school girl. set everything up and played away.

total cost for the whole setup - $1,100.00

so i paid $1,100.00 for a gk neo 112, a 5-string spector rebop and a brand new gk mb2-500. anyone doing that math trying to figure out how that happened?

first, the gk neo 112 - craig was going to sell it to me for $300.00 plus shipping from the left coast to north carolina. he was kind enough to allow me to use live.com/ebay and get MS to pay the shipping. i paid $420.00 to craig and got 25% ($105.00) back for a total of $315.00 for the cab.

second, the 5-string rebop - 1960 said he would sell it for $600.00 or trade it. he was willing to trade for a gk 1001-rbii. i didn't have one (which i told him) but i bought one on ebay for $500.00 shipped through live.com for 30% back. the guy shipped it to my house rather than 1960's so i had to pay $15.00 shipping to get it to 1960. so i paid $365.00 for my spector rebop to be shipped to me with a gig bag and a busted hard case.

if you're counting that's $680.00 so far.

lastly, the brand new mb2-500 - back in october music123 had some blemished mb2-500's for $521.?? & and the "deals from the darkside" which gave you up to $200.00 off if you spent $1,000.00 or more. so i wanted to buy two of them to get the full $100.00 discount. there was a glitch so i had to call. well, apparently the lady that i spoke to didn't realize all that i was saying and put my order in the computer as two NEW gk mb2-500's at the blem price of $521.?? with the discount to bring my total to $421.?? each. now i just have to sell my other mb2-500 and i'm set.

so how'd i do? $1,100.00 for a dream setup (at least my dream).
