This thing smokes...hard! Had it a month or two and really love the sound. For now I going to stick with the La Bella tapewounds, but I want to try a grittier set of flat or bright-flats soon.

I know I keep raving about these Veillettes, but Joe really deserves enormous praise for these. They immediately feel like very solid and well executed instruments. The fatness of the tone and growl is off the chart. I posted a clip of the five-string brother to this one last year (it's going to alembic5 this Monday in a trade) and I have a much better clip of this 6-string beast coming soon...

The balance is slightly divey but manageable. Truth be told, I would like an upper strap horn and a more, let's say, Rubenesque body, but the package as a whole is quite impressive. If I can get the bread together I will see if they can put together a custom axe for me.

35" scale
18.5 mm string spacing at the bridge
Alder body with Quilted Maple top
D-Tar Timberline piezo and 18-volt preamp
Volume and tone roll-off knobs

To my eye, the first picture looks pretty accurate for color, but the next two are too dark and orange. The tint is warm and natural looking, not artificial at all.

My picture taking skills are really terrible...but here is a sultry pose:

I USED to own this bass... when I was 13 / 14... I sold it so a friend of mine... RECENTLY the SAME EXACT bass (same cigarette burns etc) was found on ebay butchered up and sold for 300ish...

Since I dont own any more, dont need t be in the club, but its a nice bass to share...

(does upright count for the club :P )
