***SOLD****I'm sure I will kick myselk for years to come but I'm selling my ASAT 5. Sorry to all the ASAT lovers out there for not ever posting pics of this rare bird and holding her hostage in the basement. It just doesn't get the attention it ought to and I am getting heat from the spousal unit for having a fleet of basses, so up for sale it goes.
The bass is a three tone burst with body and neck binding, rosewood fretboard, matching TTB headstock. Also included is a fretless neck with a really nice figured maple board with lines, side dots and a TTB headstock. Comes with a plastic G&L case. The bass is in excellent condition, the only signs of wear I could find are light swirls in the finish.
I am the second owner, the first, if my memory serves me correctly, had a brother that worked at the factory who set him up with it and was used as primarily as a studio bass. I don't think it was ever played out.
To answer everyones first question, there is a bit more "neck dive" than an ASAT 4 but not much. I was using a thick leather strap and it was not much different than a 4. Otherwise, same paint peeling tone with a low B. I will post later this evening with weight and nut measurements. I am writing this at work so I will post pictures this evening as time allows.

Weight of the ASAT is 9 LBS on the bathroom scale, neck width at the nut is 1 7/8" with about a 3/8" spacing.
Few more pics:

No frakkin' way!

Never, ever seen one of these, and I wasn't really sure they were real.
Good luck with your sale...

There are a few. I own one too, honeyburst over ash with birdseye maple neck/board. And I had a fretless one I had to sell a few years back. So yes, they are rare, but they "live".
By the way, as looper says, the neckdive is not that bad, no problem with a good strap.

Good luck with the sale!

Chris
