I guess this is a continuation of the previously post, but I thought I'd jump in with my experience in a bit more detail. As I mentioned earlier, owning two of the same will get you more of the same in terms of overall sound with more volume.
When I first went to purchase a new rig last summer, the LMII proved to be a given and was my easiest decision. When it came to cabs, I A/B'd both the AE112 and AE210. My intention was to buy one cab and add a second later if and when the need arose since I was just starting out with a new band ans wasn't sure as to my volume needs. Both cabs sounded great, but very different. The AE112 seemed to be more open throughout the tonal range while the AE210 seemed to be more linear and closed sounding. Since I play a five string 99% of the time, I preferred the openness of the AE112 and that's what I went with. Subsequently, I played a few bar gigs (150 people) with the LMII/AE112 setup without any issues. Plenty of volume and headroom. Having a 6lb head with 31lb cab is a breeze to transport.
A couple of months after the original purchase, an HS210 came up for sale locally. If you A/B'd the AE210 and HS210 side by side, you'd probably hear some subtle differences. However, to my ears, they pretty much have the same tonal characteristics. I bought the HS210 at that time because it was being offered at a great price but in hindsight, I should have waited and bought another AE112.
A few weeks ago, someone was interested in trading their AE210 for my HS210. Before making that decision, I went to the store to try an AE210 for it had been a while. As expected, they sounded pretty much the same to me. While I was there, I decided to try some different pairings. First I played through an EX112ER on it's own. Sounded a bit muddy to me. Then I paired it with an AE112 and it sounded pretty good, although I like my 112/210 stack better. Then I stacked two AE112's together and ....WOW....it was just fantastic. Had all the tonal characteristics I like about the AE112 except there's allot more of it. I'm sure 2 HS210's would be amazing if you like that tone.
I still have the HS210 and use it as a standalone when I jam or rehearse at my drummers house. I EQ my LMII differently when playing though it in order to get a little more bottom end and take out a bit of of the lower mids. I did discover something interesting about the HS210 last night at our weekly jazz jam session. I usually sit right beside the cab when I play. During one tune, I decided to stand and walk around a bit while playing. When I got about 15 feet or so in front of the cab, it sounded completely different. Much warmer with a bigger bottom end. A whole new sonic experience for me and quite pleasing. However, I'm still planning to replace my HS210 with another AE112. At 52 years young, this will be my rig for a very long time.
Anyway, that's my story with these two cabs. I hope it helps in your decision.
