Pickguard Question

Hi all,

Firstly, hope this is in the right forum, and secondly, I want to get a new pickguard for my P-Bass, and have a question regarding the 14 vs 13 holes arrangement.

My current pickguard is a 13 hole "configuration", and when comparing it to pictures of 14 hole pickguards on eBay, I can't seem to find any difference in positioning of holes, just that there is one more. If I were to put a 14 holed pickguard on my bass, would all the other holes line up, just with one left over?

Aesthetically, this is not an issue, as I want to paint the new pickguard, similar to the style of the Coldplay guitars for their Viva la Vida tour, and one extra hole is not gonna bother me.

Its my pa's old Fender, I believe its from the 70s, 72? if I remember, heavily modded though, J pickup installed, Badass bridge, gone through a couple of colour changes, no serial number...But that's got nothing to do with the pickguard.

P.s. to Mr Chase, a commercially available pickguard, whilst out of the ordinary, isn't very unique, haha, but thanks anyway.
