I like the sound of the enhanced bass mixes better. I don't listen to standalone tracks much because they sound so incomplete to me.

I love his tone on Ride the Lightning though. It sounds great turned up a bit with the rest of the band.

I agree, I'd like to find a place to download the enhanced bass tracks. These stand alone tracks are nice for when your trying to learn a song, especially like Orion where the lines between bass and guitar blur in some places(Im the first to admit I dont have the greatest bass ear but Im working on it) but the tracks with the enhanced bass I'd like to get to put on a CD for the car or mp3 player. I really like ...and justice for all with the enhanced bass just as much as the Cliff tracks with enhanced bass.

Can anybody tell a computer dunce how to download these tracks, I'm desperate to hear them.

Open a new window, copy the link provided(unless you have firefox with linkification or something similar) in the address bar. It will take you to a place with 2 big speedometers, one says free under it the other says premium, click on the free tab unless you want to open an account and it will make you wait about 60 seconds or so. When the 60 seconds runs out click download and save it where you want it. With a free account you can only download every 15 minutes I believe, with a premium accounts its pretty much unlimited.

Yeah, I would love a uniform bass enhanced version of probably all their first four albums, but especially ...And Justice For All, because it sounds so much better with bass.

A lot of people on here seem to hate Burton's tone, but I really like it. It suits the music quite well, and sounds great with the bass turned up just a bit on Ride the Lightning and perhaps a bit more on Master of Puppets.

thank you veh, veh much... I'll try that tonight!!:hyper:

Yea..I have a feeling that unless the master tracks of the recording sessions have been stolen/borrowed etc, this is just someone who has recorded the bass lines themselves. I *highly* doubt these are the actual tracks. I would say the burden of proof is on the individual claiming they are the actual masters to document where/how they were isolated and released. Its just some dude who really likes Metallica playing along very likely. Unless they officially released these at some point in tribute or something.

It would be a major big deal if the master tapes for a band as big as Mettalica had been iso-ed and released into the wild. Heads would roll, engineers would be fired, and cease and desist orders would be flying around like crazy.

Most of the ones Ive heard are from the Guitar Hero game, the game contains the master recordings.

Ah. Well there ya go.
The nerds will find a way.:)

After listening to .ogg and the CD versions of Fade to Black it does sound awfully close tone wise. At first I was unsure about the distortion and the fact I'm pretty sure in the original Cliff let the notes ring out, but I could be wrong.

I sucks that this was how they did it because the music catalog of Guitar Hero / Rock Band is pretty weak and most of the songs already have well established songs with readily available tabs. I was hoping there would be a way to pick out stuff using software.

They took the tracks from the original master tapes....

yeah, i'd kill for a ktulu isolated bass track, that would put a few burton haters in their place.

Exactly what I want to hear.

Listened to all the Tracks. The RTL ones ar ethe best for me, tone-wise. MOP is just a bit too fuzzy and farty, particularly The Thing That Should Not Be, althought the solo in Orion makes the hairs stand on end!

Kill 'Em All sounds surprisingly subdued, the playing sounds quite gentle. Dull tone IMHO but it's good to hear the wah briefly in Seek and Destroy.:bassist:
