Has anyone ACTUALLY BOUGHT an SX Pirate??

If you put a normal neck on it, dropped in some EMG pickups, you could probably have an Aerodyne Jazz beater (with a setup and all that stuff). The body looks really cool though!
I don't. I really like how the electronics cavity is in the rear instead of the front, and I think I like the bridge a good bit better, plus the body is sweet. What makes you like it so much??

I like the aerodyne vibe, but don't care for the colors or knobs (random choice, made to look like the ocean?).
I'd rather have a bass that resembled Jason Newsted's black sadowsky (maple FB, black body).

Oh, I don't have one, sorry for posting without really paying attention. I just have been pretty intrigued by them since I saw pics of it. I dig PJs in general because I just find it to be the most versatile and useful pup arrangement, and I have always liked jazz basses without PGs and control plates (although thats fine too). That is usually a pretty tall order in an inexpensive bass. Plus the color scheme is sick. I like black and red.
I don't have the juevos to play one of those, but I admire anyone here who does! Have fun with it.
I'd say the knobs are probably more meant to look like abalone or pearl.
And that is definitely a nice bridge, looks like the Black Gotoh-201 I put on my Squier.
Anywho, I found this link of some 16 year old kid using it in a blues band, and FROM WHAT I CAN HEAR, it doesn't sound too bad, and it really doesnt look bad despite the red binding, so ditch the red pickup cover, and I think we've got a winner.

1. It's a better idea to order something you're more sure of so there's a better chance that you WON'T need to return it
I actually think it would look better if you paint the J pup red rather than the P black.2. No. That sounds like the product of crazy.
