Fender Introduces 50th Anniversary Jazz Bass Guitar

Wow! I have the 50th Anniversary Precision (the butterscotch one) and it is an amazing Precision.
This is a great looking jazz but probably proced more than I could afford right now.
There was only 450 or so of the Precisions made I wonder how many jazzes they are going to make.

Hahahah. I suddenly feel like I have to camp out in front of the music store, braving the elements while waiting for them to arrive.
Talk to your local dealer and they should be able to put in a special order for you. That is what I did with my Precision. I don't think any of them randomly came into my local stores.
I like it! Kudos to Fender for coming out with something that has all the right visual components together nicely in a neat package...now as long as it doesn't cost $1999...

I, for one, like it. And skipping the binding? Big plus for me (Binding my look nifty but to me it feels like caca). Sadly, you just know this bass will be $2000 + unless its made offshore (which would be the very height of Fender Irony...)

Since it has the posiflex rods and US tuners you can guarentee this will be US made.
My guess is it will be priced around the cost of a US vintage reissue jazz.
That is a *big* if. My one bass with binding was a J bass from '76 and it was a POS.
Meh. Very cool lookin', but I'm a Precision Bass man. Who else is waiting anxiously until 2011 when the 60th anniversary Precision comes out?? I am! Haha.
Oh crap... Just as I about to get a new jazz, fender goes and introduces one in the colour I've always dreamt of -candy apple with matching headstock.
I'm just hoping it's going to be alder instead of ash, that way I won't feel so bad because of the fact that that thing will never sell for less than 2500 USD around here, probably closer to 3K. That is _if_ it's priced around the US RI models..
