I have very poor eyesight so keep that in mind.

Did they cut the nut equal spacing "between strings" as apposed to "equal center to center".

Did you order a pick guard at the same time you ordered the body. If so the seem is not an issue and is common.

Just a couple of thoughts.

its the custom t body so a pick guard was not on the order. the seam runs the length of the body.
it is very visible when the body is turned under light.
it is not cracked but looks like they just did not finish the job of buffing it out or missed it in QC.
there is also some wrinkling "orange peel" effect in the finish.
the nut spacing is in the photo is being compared to my luthiers spacing gauge.
i called Warmoth, sent the pics via email per their request. I will hear back from their sales manager tomorrow.
I waited 11 weeks for this and for it to have problems right off the bat is a real bummer man. its a bummer.

Two (or more) piece bodies are glued at the center-line, like yours. Check out the photo attached. I hired a new finisher who insisted that he knew how to finish bodies so the first body he did was this flame maple SJ and proceeded to do the same job as Warmoth did to your bass, which is completely unacceptable. The body wasn't properly sealed is my opinion. It looks like they went right to color, the color coat crept into the joint and they tried to correct it with layers of top coat. Tsk tsk, Warmoth.

I just sanded down that body and will repaint it with a solid color now because the color coat crept into the joint and no amount of sanding will get rid of it. Too bad because it was a sweet top on it.

Send your body back.

Good thing it wasn't Bernie Hefner. He screws up a body and you're stuck with it but Warmoth has a far better business ethic.

I agree a center seam is not good, although I have two Rickenbackers that show the seam. It's up to the customer, and if this bugs you, Warmoth should correct it.

As for the nut, it appears to be cut correctly, just wider that the spacing on your diagram. It looks like Warmoth adhered to the most accepted "center string to center string" measurement, it's just a slightly wider spacing than your diagram.

Did you specify the spacing in your diagram when you put in the order?
