Well, my new John East P-Retro is installed. Took me a little while to install, as I messed up my first pickguard because I had the (charge light) bezel too close to the preamp. Another issue I had was the shafts were a little long, and the knobs were to high above/off the pickguard. I sent an email to John, and all I can say is "Fantastic" customer service. He gave me a great location for the bezel to be installed, and he also brought to my attention that the shaft height coming through the pickguard was adjustable via the nut on the underside of the pickguard. WooHoo...Thanks John!!
I haven't had much time playing around with it, but during a 10 minute session, I can say that the tones are endless, and it makes my P bass sound incredible!! The deep boost is fantastic, and allows for me to get a very nice creamy/thumpy tone. Like Butta baby!!!
