wow....never thought this day would come, but I'm ready to part with my UNBELIEVABLE '69 Precision. It's the greatest bass I have ever owned but between bills and the fact that I'm now known around here in NYC for my 5 string sound, my poor baby just hangs on my wall collecting dust and needs a new home. It has some obvious world tour wear on the finish which I've always loved and it plays like a dream. It's had TI flats on it for the last 15 years so the frets should be in great shape if you want to use rounds. I'm supposedly the 5th owner and was told by the last owner that the pickup died so he sent it to Lindy Fralin to be re-wound. Other than that, the bass is completely original. I also have both pickup covers and the original case, so this thing can really get top dollar for any collector. I'm looking for $4000 shipped OR AN ALLEVA-COPPOLO LG5, LM5 (if it's not too heavy), or RA 5. In the past I've been offered to trade for both a '62 P-bass AND a '66 P-bass and I turned them both down because my '69 outplayed them both in feel and in sound if you can believe it. Feel free to ask ANY questions and if you have an outstanding bass that isn't an AC I might be down to hear you out :D....thanks for looking!

You are making a mistake bro IMO. Sell the AC keep the real deal:bassist: I've heard recordings of you playing both basses, the fender kills the AC IMO.

Good luck with the sale.

haha thank you for your honest opinion dude....I would love to keep the "real deal" but the AC is just an amazing bass and I just can't play without that B string now! I'm definitely keeping it if I don't get any awesome offers but I have to humbly disagree with you on that last part!

Mitch,

You don't know how badly I want this bass! (REALLY!!!) I don't imagine that you'd be interested in the custom, and really superb, Sandberg 5-string listed here in a partial trade, would you? ....

I'd still be contributing more than $2,500 in cash to the deal!

I'm a former Brooklyn guy, who still lives only 1.5 hours away, and I could come up and do a deal in-person (that way, you could check-out the Sanberg 5-er in person, if you're at all interested in her). As a guy who absolutely loves the P-Bass sound, and finds the "B" neck to be the most-playable, I'd love to acquire your '69.

How heavy is the bass, by the way?

Mitch,

Is the bass now sold for sure?

By the way, it sounds (and you sound) really good in those Sin Sin / Nyle vs. the Naysayers video clips!

hey Doug,

the bass has been sold. I'm just waiting for $ to appear in my account via electronic transfer to make it official. And thanks for the compliment! But I'm actually using my Alleva-Coppolo KBP5 in those clips! So you can understand why I'm selling my '69....haha
