Current Setup

Basses:
1) Double Bass, an older German flat back bass.
2) Double Bass, a Misel bass as a backup.
3) Double Bass, a Kay bass for outdoor use.
4) Bass Guitar, a Kramer - just because.

Amps and Cabinets:
Phil Jones Suitcase with a 4B extension cab.
Phil Jones Bass D-600 amp
Mark Bass LMK II as back up head. Don't really
need it with the PJB. : )
Two Euphonic VL-110 cabs.
Pickups:
AMT Mic for the German Bass.
Wilson Piezo Pickup also on the German
bass.
Fishman BP-100 pickup for the Misel and Kay
basses.
I use the Mark Bass head and the EA cabs when I Have gigs too close together on the same day.

Favorite Genres

Jazz is pretty much it for me now but there are many fine country, rock and pop groups and players. I started with Classical music but I appreciate all generes as long as it is done well.

Gigs and Ensembles

I work with a variety of groups, many of the same players will be in all the groups. My main group is a piano, bass and drums trio with a female vocalist. Guitar, bass and drums is another trio. Both of these groups will sometimes expand up to an octet for some venues. There are two big bands, 12 to 14 players, that I also work with. The venues are variable. They vary from small jazz clubs to resturants, country clubs, and dance clubs at different hotel halls. Actually did a duo IN a hallway a while back.

Influences and Teachers

First and always foremost is Ray Brown. Many others are on the list which includes NHOP, John Clayton, Gary Peacock, Ron Carter, Scott Lafarro, Steve Swallow and don't forget Jaco... The list goes on and on.
