Going from electric I didn't find bass to be too bad at my practice yesterday.

I def agree about the price being a lot more. But is it worth the price? haha. I pretty much am buying one bass and keeping it for a long time. The price isn't that much of a big deal for me if it performs. Unless the 505 holds its own with it :)

Yeah it said SR505QM. I was also looking at a IBANEZ SR4505E for 1200. I know they are pretty good, but are they worth the extra cash? Have no problem keeping the SR505, but I am going to start playing bass for my band and want to be set for gigs. I love the SRs, because they fit in my hands...

The qm is 700 is that too much for this should I spend a little more and get a different one? They do have a used one for 500 but I am iffy on buying used and not knowing who had it last and if they beat on it.

exactly what I was thinking. I think I am going to go with the qm and trade in the one I have now to keep the wear and tear down. I feel bad because they already ordered a new one for me but I just found out about the qm today and I think its a safer bet.

I also noticed that the finish is not very durable. I actually have a new one coming in because the one they sold me was dinged up. I have the SR505kabbf but I kind of like the look of the SR505qm. Not sure if there is a big difference in the wood. the qm is a little more expensive.

I am glad that everybody says its a good bass. I was going to change it for a Warwick, but if its that good I will def keep it around.
