Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

I just got my used CV 70s Jazz at GC and it was a great experience. I've been to another GC and it was terrible, so it's very hit and miss. But I did enjoy trying a few basses and picking one. Not many places to do that anymore

Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

My statement was more taking an extreme point as rhetoric to show how much I hate glossy necks. I have sanded down a cheap SX guitar neck to wood but I put a wipe-on satin finish. I also don't use lemon oil on maple.

Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

The CV I just got, like most used stuff I've gotten, has been set up poorly. I don't think most people know how to set up guitars and basses well and just power through. I'm guessing a lot of people will get a new Squier and won't realize it's poorly set up and won't say anything. Because of...

Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

Agreed. I've sanded a few necks before so I have a feel for what I want and how far to go. I use 800 grit and take my time. I usually have to do it again as playing causes it to polish again. For me, I'd rather go down to wood than have it glossy. The sticky feeling feels creepy to me. It's...

Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

In terms of the Glarry basses (or many budget basses) I don't think it's a good idea unless you just want something to mod and mess with. The bodies are usually very light which leads to neck dive. The frets are rough and some can be high leading to buzzing. The nuts aren't cut well. As for...

Are you referring to the Harley Benton bass?

How do the G&L Tribute basses compare to the Classic Vibes? They seem pretty nice and compare price wise, but I never hear much about them.

Squier 70's Classic Vibe Jazz Bass- Best Budget Bass?

Heard good things about the Sire. Seems like a great deal. I just got a Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz bass in white. It feels great but I have yet to find a cheaper guitar or bass that didn't need fret work and a set up. I rolled over the fret ends and polished them up. Also, I hate glossy...

Why is Pink Floyd more popular and appealing than Rush?

I think highly of Rush as individual musicians but don't really enjoy the music. Geddy Lee's voice has always been difficult for me to listen to. The rhythms, changes, chord voicing, etc makes me feel tired. I end up concentrating rather than just listening and enjoying. With Pink Floyd, the...

Prospective “buyer” wants serial number. Thoughts?

I'm a former police officer and would say that a person that just has a serial number without any kind of proof of ownership probably wouldn't get very far. If a person files a report with a serial number but nothing else, a detective or police officer would contact you. If you showed you sent...

Help me identify this Squier PJ please!

Looks like my Squier Standard Special in a different color. But it doesn't say "Standard" where "Affinity" would normally be, so I'm not sure. I'm guessing it has a thinner Jazz bass neck? I like mine but the truss rod stopped working so I just ordered a Mighty Mite neck.
