OK, so the SVT-2 Pro has a gain control, but does this make it a worse amp? You don't have to use gain. Just what is it that makes the non-pro a better amp?

I once knew a keyboard player who used a small Ampeg combo amp that had the coolest lighted face plate — it lit up in a flourescent blue and looked to be made of lucite. Does anyone know what amp this is? I would like to buy one for nostalgia purposes.

I bought it at the Guitar Center in Phoenix next to Metro Center last November.

Removed the head from the cab — no more crackle. Put it back on and it crackled. I can also reproduce it now by banging my hand on the head. Now to try to find the loose connection! I read on this forum about a loose pre-amp to chassis connection. Will try to find that.

I adjusted the bias according to instructions, lights are green and go red when played. It is not a speaker break-in issue: they all do it at the same time and equally.
