Thank you for your reply Wasnex The specs for the 2001 say it has 2x530w low range amps & 2x50w high range amps. That's certainly overkill for me in terms of both power and functions. It's purely the price that attracts me. Would there be a difference in voicing between the 1001 & 2001?

Thank you for the reply bherman. Ah yes. I've come across brief vids of the Mesa Subway 800, but mainly discounted it on the grounds that I'm old school enough to believe that bass gear has to weigh more than I do.. Maybe I should Look at it.
