Firebird Tomonaga (Andey McFarlin) has been playing music since a toddler, learning the organ from her grandfather. Playing percussion, autoharp and viola in grade school, she picked up the guitar after hearing Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker and played in various bands through middle school and high school, in addition to playing percussion in the high school marching band, jazz band and orchestra. She switched to bass after joining a progressive rock trio. She cut her teeth on bass in the college jazz band, and has gone on to play bass in various local groups. In addition, she is also an accomplished bagpiper.
