Please elaborate; what's going on inside the socket that I cannot reproduce with external jumper wires. Just trying to understand I understand, but I also understand the additional effort involved with removing the amp from its rack and opening the top when it does fail, which Murphy asserts...

All my basses have at least 5 strings and I haven't had to retune. With the exception of one Doors song which requires Drop-A. I -may- bring a second bass pre-tuned to Drop-A for that once the song goes live. I always have a backup bass anyway, so it could work out best...
