Great reading. My two cents...analog wiring is best if you dress the cabling as twisted pair. so each ground wire and signal are twisted together to reduce inductance (noise) And don't use solid wire! Not sure if it's RF or 60 cycle hum? With a multimeter, you can use your two probes to meter...
