Ampeg SVT Blueline Club, 68 to early 70's.

So I just got the SVT about a day ago and I went to go plug set it up in the garage. It turned on fine and had the volume on about 3 just playing some cords for about 2 minutes until suddenly sound stopped coming from the speakers. The SVT was still running and nothing seemed wrong, no smoke or...

This just went up on Craigslist near my house and darn, I already bought the other blue line I mentioned. Missed this by a day. This one’s supposedly all original except that replaced front knob.

That’s the first and only one I’ve seen for sale, but yea that’s priced pretty high. I got my 2 8x10’s for half that. The stones used the v9’s on their 78’ tour of the U.S. There’s footage of them at a TX show and the huge v9’s covering the entire back line.

Yea, there’s one on eBay right now. Though, you said the 10” speaker’s voice coil would basically melt if I played guitar through them with the SVT on 10.

yea... museum piece for me with this stuff is to just have one, don’t mind if it’s not completely original. All the stuff about the power output and nodes is very interesting, but the main concern for me now is what kind of speaker cab with what kind of speakers is it safe to run it through for...

I see, I’m going to be getting it as more of a museum piece I’ll keep in the garage and play with ear protection. What if you ran it with 2 cabs? Would it not be so destructive to the speaker’s then?

Thanks for the informative reply, here’s the description he gives of what has been done to the amp. See anything of concern with that?

Yup, they’d be like that sometimes. Now about the the SVT, it’s wonderfull I’m getting this much info from all you. I have plenty more questions and ideas for it. It would make sense the magic sharpies all worn out by now and I’m still constantly rereading what Wasnex had to say about the...

Yea, but what’s with the magic marker? What did it look like because I haven’t noticed any markings on any silver chassis blue lines I’ve seen pictures of. Here’s another picture of a different one and that has it’s serial number.

As for jimmy... cool you came by. I’ll send pictures of it. And I’ll have to ask the seller to give me a picture with the back grill off to see if it has that socket.

It’s all good man, I know that what happened had nothing to do with you. It was the seller’s doing. And yea, that sucks when seller’s turn the other way and sell your item. I’ve heard about that site but never got around to using it.

Godamn, I’ve been reading this entire thread and saw bobyoung’s posts from back in July to now about winning that 1969 Blue line 6146B SVT on eBay. The listing was actually a buy it now before the guy put it back up for bids where bob young here ended up winning it. I made an offer with him and...
