Current Setup

Fender Deluxe Active Jazz - converted to passive with Fender '62 RI pickups.
For home practice I primarily play thru my studio monitors and Helix Native.
For live, I almost always go direct and with some sort of preamp (Eden WTDI or Darkglass B7K) and use HX effects for the rest. Occasionally get to play through an SVT with the big 8x10.

Favorite Genres

I mostly play worship music, but in my spare time I like a variety of different styles. I cut my teeth on Led Zeppelin as well as some 70s disco/funk stuff; nowadays my interests are all over the place. Lately I've been digging Vulfpeck and Polyphia.

Gigs and Ensembles

I currently just play at church(es). In the past I've played as a part of a couple of different bands and have toured all across the US and to a couple of countries overseas.

Previously Owned Gear

I've had two basses before my current and both were pretty junky. My first was a Squier that I got at a garage sale for $30. The truss rod was stripped or broke (or both!) and the action was comparable to a string bass. It was good enough to learn on, though! Someone also gifted me a "Rogue" for free which was borderline unplayable but a fun project - defretted it and refinished it - ultimately ended up giving it away too.

I'd really like to get a StingRay 5-string...A friend of mine has a "Prestige" series Ibanez soundgear that I really like a lot and would like to get one someday. Other than that, perhaps a new amp...
