SOLD FS: Gallien-Krueger MB800 in excellent condition

Up for sale is my Gallien-Krueger MB800 micro bass head. It packs 800 watts at 4 ohms and 500 watts at 8 ohms, and weighs about 5 pounds! With this much power it can perform well at gigs of any size, and can be used for silent practice with the headphone jack. It's in excellent condition with...

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

Well here's the deal. Both the Precision bass and the head that came today were ordered used from Guitar Center (I know, I know), and the head was busted. That means I have to send it back and get another one somewhere else, which will be more expensive, which means I need to return the...

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

I'm hoping I'll dig the sound through my new head, which I suspect I will, and if I do I'll invest in a professional setup before replacing any parts.

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

I'm undecided on that at the moment. It's hard to make a call without a proper setup (or at least some more tinkering), but I don't want to invest in a setup just yet. EDIT: It's not that it's bad, but it's pretty different from my Schecter. The neck feels different (obviously) and the strings...

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

Thanks, this is helpful. My new head (Gallien-Krueger 700RB-II) comes in today, and if I really dislike how the MIM Precision sounds through it, I might not bother upgrading it.

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

From what I can tell it's only through the amp. I've adjusted the pickup, but it never completely goes away. I've checked the neck several times, on both the bass and treble sides, and it seems completely straight. Is it still worth giving the truss rod a fraction of a turn?

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

Don't think I was just blowing your opinion off, I do appreciate the input, I was just wondering if anyone had more specific feedback, for instance if there was some problem that would make the bass not worth upgrading, or if people thought a new pickup wouldn't fix the issues I'm having with...

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

I could swear that last night I was able to find the Dimarzio Will Power, and today it seems like nowhere has a listing for it anymore or the listing says it's been discontinued. By the way, what are your opinions on upgrading the pots? EDIT: Maybe it was actually the Model P I was looking at...

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

Of course that's a risk, but I might be missing out on a lot if I only ever play stock basses, right? Yeah, it's a risk, but I';m hoping the risk will be worth it.

Do you think Dimarzios would suit me better than Seymour Duncans?

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

I took a second look at the neck and it still seems fairly straight, but I'm reading up on how to properly adjust a truss rod now. Also, to be fair, this was a used instrument that likely wasn't setup properly for the strings that were on it.

I'm listening to the sound clip on Lollar's website, and it sounds pretty great!

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

I read about this issue and got it down further, which helped a bunch, but it's still an issue. The new strings I put on are a lighter gauge (45 - 100) than what was on there, which I've read can be the cause of the problem.

Is it worth dumping money into upgrading my MIM Precision bass?

Thanks for the advice and resources everyone! I think the playability issues can be fixed with a proper setup, but I'm hoping that a pickup change will fix the issues I have with the sound. A lot of people (here and other places) are saying that aftermarket pickup replacements are a big...
