Since my previous post, I am now the owner of a Traynor Bassmaster YBA-4, what a lovely amp. I'm really pleased with my purchase and on the underside of the chassis lid is even the schematic which shows the revision of the power supply and circuit for their UK distribution.

Both original to the production of the amps?

Anyone able to shed any light on this for me? More to the point, if such an amp has had its power transformer changed in order to run on UK mains, is there anything that I should mindful of or check (assuming that its been done by a qualified tech) before purchasing?

Does anyone here know if the vintage Traynor amps from the 70's had a market in the UK and produced any of their amps for use with 240V mains, or were they just sold within North America (110V)? I'm based in the UK and currently looking to buy either a YBA-4 or YBA-1 Bassmaster so just trying to...

I appreciate that what Im asking here relates to the Traynor combos rather than the heads (as referenced in the thread title) but based on what has previously been discussed here, still seems relevant.

Yeah, I believe that the Fender Dual Showman Reverb is exactly the same circuit etc as the Twin Reverbs of that era. As you point out, essentially the Twin Reverb in head form. The JBL E120's are classic speakers, I have considered getting a cab with a couple of those in at some point.

How do you like the Fender Showman for bass duties and what cab and speaker are you pairing it with?
