Finish help: clear poly, glow and pearl pigment

WOW! That looks amazing! My only worry is that if I apply the transtint after the inlay or epoxy is that it will color the epoxy, or will the dye not affect the epoxy or inlay? did you dye after you level sanded everything?

Finish help: clear poly, glow and pearl pigment

Ha, hopefully no bombs go off. So maybe I should try to seal the area that I am applying epoxy, put the fill, then sand the whole thing and stain the whole body? My other option was to do a "rough" inlay with the epoxy, route a finer outline of the inlay and make a "border" around the inlay with...

Finish help: clear poly, glow and pearl pigment

I'll look into the preval, never heard of it before. It seems like there alot of mixed reviews but I'm mostly likely gonna have to thin the crytalac poly before I try spraying it. I had a question about building layers of poly, I've heard different things but generally speaking is it true that...

Finish help: clear poly, glow and pearl pigment

Crystalac does all waterbased finishes, I am avoiding anything too harsh since I live in a studio.

Finish help: clear poly, glow and pearl pigment

After I stain the body, is sanding sealer a good choice to seal the body against bleed through from the epoxy?

Custom bass wiring help: Active/passive switch retaining passive tone

I have been scouring the internet for a diagram that shows how to wire the passive tone before the preamp but have not had any luck. The only thing I found was this from a seymour duncan article but it doesn't make any sense to me. I'm a little lost when it comes how to wire the volume -> tone...

Custom bass wiring help: Active/passive switch retaining passive tone

Thanks guys, I have one last question. As for the active/passive switch, what is the difference between the 2 diagrams? is either of them better?

Custom bass wiring help: Active/passive switch retaining passive tone

Thanks 4stringtheorist & ABtheBassPlayer! would an on-on-on work like in this diagram? Ignoring the "bass-cut"/"treble-cut" wording

Custom bass wiring help: Active/passive switch retaining passive tone

Yes, I would like it "on" at all times. That is why the I want to have a 3-way capacitor switch so that the middle one with no capacitor will basically be a psuedo tone bypass. Although I don't know what kind of switch I need or how to wire it. I have done a 2-way but not a 3-way cap switch...

Custom bass wiring help: Active/passive switch retaining passive tone

I am currently putting together a custom precision style bass and I want to have various tone controls. I need help specifically with wiring the Active/passive switch as I have seen various wiring diagrams. I want to retain the passive tone knob and have a 3 way switch on the tone pot (2...

Has anyone used Jayme Lewis' Ignite Musical Training?

Hi, yes i did purchase the ignite music program. I have to say that I have not completed the program though. Once thing to note is that SBL focuses on lots of content and the Ignite Musical Training is strictly music theory and aural training which I purchased for more aural training. I found it...
