You are not really trying to replicate the sound of a live bass, but a recording of a bass. This is probably something that you have considered, but they are very different. The Olliff chain was likely Bison -> Amp (or direct?) -> Philips EL 6023 or AKG D12 microphone (if amped) -> Neve console...

From what I gather, what you have is a baritone guitar and not a proper bass VI due to the scaling. Baritones are cool, though. The Split Sound bass is a rare one.
