After lowering the pickups and compensating for the decrease in volume, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I find plucking closer to the bridge generally sounds better to my ears, but this aspect of the sound stays pretty much the same in this case. This is how it looks by the nut...

Hi, This is my first 5-string bass. I know it's nothing exciting, but I bought it thinking the B string would let me access the usually lower frets of an E string horizontally (while also giving me an extended range). I guess it does do that, but it appears that any note above a D introduces...
