Freakin Drummer Drinks before Gig ...

I'm a non drinking bass player in a 3 piece hard rockin' down & dirty bar band for many years, probably 30 or so with the same flamboyant beer drinkin' front man, guitar player and best friend. He is a top notch guitard who can consume and is usually supplied liberally by audience, management...

Sound quality seems reduced by the end of the practice

See that many of you like to employ ear plugs. Over my last 40 years enjoying the bottom end have never been able to use them. Probably have a level of hearing loss/damage but that connection to my sound canvas is of utmost importance, just can't stand the disconnection from the slight nuances...

How hard is it to be in a 3 piece band??

Three piece power trio for umpteen years and LoVe IT. Lots of room to make the tunes juicy and even tho the guitar player gets the usual attention, I find it's the bass player who pulls the strings on the dance floor.

Were not following the set list!

My rockin' 3 piece power trio of 30 years has a healthy roster of probably 400 songs, any of which could be pulled in an instant. Will sometimes leave this list at the front of the stage so the frothies can leaf thru it, won't have to worry about a set list. The audience loves it and it keeps...

Cover band pay: how much are you making?

I supply PA and lights including setups and tear downs for the usual $100 each. Real lucky to get any more these days. Just glad to be gigging with my guitarist/close friend of 35 years.

Making The Best 4 Hour Bar Gig

I'm a 57 year old Warwick 5 string slinger, PA and lights guy (gear owner and control-meister) and I love doin' bar shows and especially private shindigs. The people are always friggin awesome, the dance floor seldom bare, the paycheque never an issue. Don't really mind the travel as my...

I think my store has a warwick priced wrong.

Warwick basses are made in Germany and the Rockbass line is built elsewhere under the guidance of Warwick DE

    Geezers Just Wont Quit

At 56, I have a much better handle on my Warwick than 25 years ago. The band in general puts out a much better quality show than ever before and folks our age are real happy us ol duffers are still rockin' it out. Gear is better, band ethic is better, musicians our age work much better together...

What all comes with buying a bass online?

I don't but cheep junk, am willing to lay down substantial cash for the good stuff but only after my fingers have massaged every nook and cranny of that piece. I know what I'm taking home!! Just bought a set of Yorkville Led4 lights, received with hidden damage in shipping, thru my LOCAL music...

Should we play in a bar?

I don't think I would want to play in a band that didn't want to play in bars!! I'm 56 as is the GP, drummer is 45, and after 30+ years of gigging together we've always love rockin' bars, reunions, receptions, all the little gigs with big paybacks and not only $$. Haulin' ass, doing back to...

    War Pigs this Saturday?

Can't go wrong with War Pigs, our audience demands it!!!

No set list, I'm not playing.

Bang on, 35 years of material on constant rotation and audience driven is the way to hang. Going one step farther, we'll leave a large print list of near 300 songs at the front of the stage and as intoxication descends that list is a hot spot with patrons who are more than willing to make the...
