    The specs don't actually say that the cab handles 800 watts. They say that 800 watts is the recommended maximum amp power. Different thing. Apart from the weight and size, all of those specs are misleading. It's a 400W cab, despite the marketing claims.

    That's useful. Unfortunately, you can't make 5 ohms and 10 ohms out of three 20 ohms resistors. So that's the first problem. (Already pointed out by sclift).

    I've had another think, and the only way I can see the resistors causing that kind of dip is if you double or triple the value of the series resistor in the circuit.     Voice coils are wound by machine and normally to tight tolerances. If two identical cabs sound different (once external influences have been discounted), there's something wrong somewhere.

    It's not good. The wadding should be fixed so that it can't move inside the cabinet. It's shoddy workmanship. As others have said, it's not critical (although it could possibly block the ports) but it shouldn't happen.
