When I started to play on fretless I started with scales. I used a sequencer program (or Band In a Box) and it played only one chord round and round and I played the fitting scales. For me it was a good and fast practise to play in tune.

I use EBS Northern Light Bass Titanium Nickel Strings (40/60/80/100/125) on my American Standard V Jazz Bass and on my KSD fretless.

First I've used boiling and after I've changed to denatuer alcohol. Nowadays I'm using the GHS Fast Fret everyday and it helps to keep clear my string. In that case when the strings are very old I rub the string with a sponge and scouring powder in hot water. It really works and not smelly, but...
