    Fender Bassman 100T Chapter 3

The pic is not mine, just a pic I found of the V2. Mine only had V1 in it and mine went haywire. Sold it at a loss only to find out a day later that Fender still made the V2 board. It would have cost about $275 for the part and install. I would have preferred that to selling at a loss and...

    Fender Bassman 100T Chapter 3

Dont know if this helps but all the V2 units I’ve seen plainly say V2

I like to be able to see them. I am a little sad that they are not visible from the front of my 400+. I disconnected the blue lights on my Prodigy and was able to see the tube glow much better. In short, I’d love to see them but it is not necessary.

This may be but through my Subway 215 (new technology) my GK 700rb has much more low bass than my 400+…

Tubes make such a difference. I started with class D stuff for over a decade then sold it all and discovered the glory of tubes. I even dabbled with going SS again (class A/B) but decided that I can’t compromise my tubes. I have a GK 700rb as a backup to my 400+ and it sounds great and goes...

This isn’t the place, but I’d love to hear the specific myths and the applied solutions. I think my favorite feature on any of the Subway heads is the damping dial on the WD… I’m guessing that solved one of the myths.

Markbass did it with their MoMark line (SS or course)

For a 200watt Mesa head I’ll pay $3000 but I am not willing to pay that for 100watts. The other problem I see is the competition. The Fender Super Bassman is 300watts and has two channels (one of which is FMV tone stack) and costs $2300. No it is not American made and no it is not Mesa so...

That was the other route I was thinking. But I think that would effect how the tubes react all together. A 200/100 watt head with the ability to go to 2 ohms would work great for me. Then I can run at 100watts into my Subway 215.

I automatically think digital when cab sim is mentioned, sorry bout that. So many folks are using digital cab sims now a days… may as well just be using a Quad Cortex… my guitarist uses one and it makes neat sounds but I want analog circuitry to make my neat sounds.

This brings up a deal breaker for me (not that I matter any bit in the creation of this head)… nothing can be digital in the head. Analog only. I don’t want any amp sims, programmable EQs, nothing like that. Even an auto bias system I would prefer to not be there or be analog (though I may look...

The Fender Bassman 100t (which has been mentioned) has a 100watt and 25 watt mode. It runs on 4 6L6 tubes. The owners manual does not mention using different impedances when running in 25watt mode. Do you know how this is achieved? I am definitely not challenging you, just curious how Fender can...

So Mesa can do a three power option (like the Strategy)… 200/100/50. That will satisfy most for sure. On a power note, I know my old Ashdown Little Bastard (30watt tube head) through the Subway 215 was PLENTY of power for a loud band rehearsal … I’ve also owned the Ampeg PF50t and would say...

You’re probably correct and if the funds are available it’s a feature I would take advantage of. My biggest concern is that it won’t look like a mushroom top on the Subway cabs.

To address other comments… I won’t be dumping my 400+ for an 800D but I would dump my GK 700rb (backup head) for an 800D second hand. I may sell the 400+ if there is a new Mesa tube Mesa head that can dethrone it. Regarding the Fender 100t: I love that head… even more than the Super Bassman...
