I totally agree. When I think a Ray sounds less versatile that’s because the attack, not its sound. When I wanted a mellow bass tone, no matter how mellow the stingray could be, I still thought the attack was still there. But when I want it, that’s the one. I haven’t tried the new Special yet...

Thanks. I like how the Ray sound and that’s why I always wanted to get one. It’s not my favorite but I’m still intrigued. I’m just worried that it’s not versatile enough or doesn’t sit as well as the P in the mix.
