Beatbuddy 2 (Is there a better option?)

I use the first BeatBuddy. For what you're describing, the mini Beat Buddy might be sufficient. If your not using midi to set tempos, the larger devices might but be worth the money.

Would you play gigs with a band that doesn't have a great PA?

With all things being positive in the playing situation (songs, players, sociability, pay, relative sanity, emotional maturity, etc) being positive, I would tell the band leader that the current setup is limiting the success of the band. With the BL being mentally healthy enough to absorb this...

Is She Dressed to Your Liking This Time

Lot of fashion on talkbass today. Everyone must have done their scales early today. When I saw the title, I assumed the "she" in question was the bass, but I couldn't figure out how one dresses frets on an upright, let alone how In video was was going to do anything to meet the fret dressing...

    TalkBass Sartorial Advice

Personally, I avoid open toes shoes and shorts, but that's based on how I look. Generally, players should dress for the gig. If the band is a Goth band and everyone is wearing black, dress like your a member of the group.
