Something like a POD HD 500 for the guitar but which is better suited for the bass in a live situation as far as the effects go.

Im actually doing fine with othe rparts of the audition such as sight reading,ear training blues and improv i can do them...i cant decide the track i should play thats why just tell me if a track like smooth operator would be good it has some greatjazz aspects and a really nice bass solo i could...

Ok good but is smooth operator a good choice then?with improvisations in the solo and other parts?

What do u guys think about smooth operator?its jazz if i can improvise itll show my understanding of the instrument aswell..

I was actually going to play it with a backing track with the other instruments without bass but im probably going to be doing tocatta and fugue by bach.

Sorry if i sounds paranoid :P but 40 days for not just the prepared piece but also other things they require me to do for the audition..i dont have to start from scratch and i have had enough practice with improvisation and identifying notes and rhythm in the past but i just want to be sure if...

If i were to play a minor melodic bass solo what shows more understanding then ure own piece but how complex should it be?and i tranposed a chordal bass solo for autumns leaves sometime back but it was of about 1.34 mins should i try that?And one last thing i appreciate all u ppl helping out...

Im confused about what to play its because i dont know what theyre looking for in the prepared piece..should it be jazz?or is any genre fine?Now even the pot i can nail but even if i play it perfectly will they not take it seriously...Im really lost here..
