Are you referring to the knot on the third fret, thats the picture of the first post? or the spot I'm wondering about in the 3rd post? Thanks for your insight..

It gives it character, but I don't want to hold on to it if down the line it'll cause neck issues... Also, on the last fret.. there's a small circular spot, that looks like it was plugged, glued and finished(pressed?). Is that possible? I might have to take another photo, to get a better look.

Recently acquired an Sx Jazz bass, and the neck has a spot on the third fret. Overall the bass is great, but I can't tell if it is knot in the maple or if it's something else. Any ideas? Thanks for your input!
