Dunlops are pretty bright and balanced sounding at least compared to the other La Bellas I've tried. Do these lean more traditional/thumpy? I've used LTFs too so any comparison to those would help also.

How does the tone of these compare to Dunlop flats?

Good start! I recently bought a Genzler ULV210 which I love. I tried a few heads with it but it pairs best with a Shuttle 6.2 (duh!), not that the others don't sound great but there is a responsiveness that I'm getting with them sharing the same dna. I'm sure a Quilter would rock with that cab.

FWIW I moved from a TE elf 110 to a GR wood 110. The GR seems to have better power handling. Pushing them both with 250 watts the TE sounded a bit strained at higher volumes but the GR handles it fine.

How would you compare the sound?

Anyone try both these and SIT Foundation nickel? Also is the general consensus that these are brighter than Super Brights?

I demo'd the PJB 17 at guitar center a while back and compared to a bunch of other small combos from fender, acoustic and a couple others. It was the smoothest, most full range sounding but also the quietest. I was suprised at how little volume it had. The Rumble 40 will have way more volume...

I stopped using my bam200 for a while but recently pressed it back into service for smaller gigs. With the right cab it's easy to get a nice sound with upright.

Still loving my Bullhead Mini for both electric and upright bass. I was just thinking about it's first gig after buying it used. 90° weather direct sunlight four ohm load. It didn't break a sweat unlike me.

The EDM has a 3 band EQ and HPF. I usually have the mids and highs set around 9-10 o'clock. That can go up to noon depending on the room but never boosted. The lows usually stay around noon, ocassionally boosted or cut a bit. The HPF is usually around 9 o'clock. This is all room dependent...
