I asked the tech about the 6550s and the 12au7s and he said " I use 5881 STRS and 12ax7s in mine but you can use any compatible tube you want. Maybe they were trying to drum up some service work. I know the 12au7s are compatible. But probably not the 6550. I have the 400+.

I just picked up a 12bh7 I want to see if it will work in the preamp section. The first two preamp tunes are right off the input Jacks and before the eq and effects loop. the second two are after that and go straight to the power tubes. It looks like each set of two pp power tubes has its own...

Thanks for your advice. I don't want to burn up anything, i will be xtra cautious, I checked the filament voltage. It seemed close to the 6l6 The 6550 & kt88 are running a little weak because of low plate voltage of the 6l6s Trans seem cool??

I Had to wire up some of the speakers out of phase to get the most bass. Seems there was too much internal pressure. If I installed a check valve I could make a pretty powerful air compressor for levitating ping pong balls very usful. Fyi also works as a time machine.

I took my 400+ and butchered it into this setup. I'm messing around with combinations of kt88, 6550, 6l6 also preamp tube I found if I use a 12au7 in the first position I get a more SVT type creamy tube sound but loose a little volume. I also incorporated an epicenter with a blending pedal sound...
