Studied at The New England Conservatory, and Studied under Henry Portnoi my first year, Leslie (Tiny) Martin the next two years, and David Walter my last year. Henry Portnoi taught me how to use the bow efficiently. Leslie (Tiny) Martin, taught me how to loosen up, and still be serious. David Walter taught me how to phrase, write my own editions, invent new techniques, interpret modern music, and an entire litany of things that there is simply not enough room for here on this page. Upon my return to DFW I studied with Chuck Rainey for a year, and he taught me how to carry over what I learned on the upright to the electric, and not sound stilted.
