NBD - Gibson Les Paul Tribute DC.

I really need to get one... Having just returned yesterday from seven weeks in hospital where I lost 45 pounds, a more compact bass sounds very appealing. ((Don't feel bad for me, I'm still 280 pounds and 6'5") The problem is finding one in Western Australia....

Dude gets his tone an expensive, decent, and no name bass.

I did mean Yamaha. I really need to proof read before posting....anyway, like McCartney's. Great bass, like most Yams.

I have owned over 75 basses and Christ knows how many guitars in my 50 years playing. I've owned everything from vintage Fenders, to Alembics to cheap Cort, to Ibanez and many, many others. Best bass I've ever owned? I can narrow it down to four.....A 1985 Tune Bass Maniac. Playability, comfort...

NBD Yamaha John Patitucci JP 1

I honestly believe that Yamaha make basses that are at the very top, quality-wise, of every price point they sell at. I love that new finish!

Do you need a backup bass.

I haven't done a gig without a spare bass for over 40 years. If I was a band leader I would expect it.

    Ibanez or Sire???

I've played most basses at that price range over the years. For what it's worth, I prefer the Cort A4 or A5, or B4/B5 over both the Sire and the Ibanez.
