A really good sounding 6 string bass that looks good as well is the MusicMan Bongo 6. I've been really happy with the sound.

I would recommend going to a pick guard customization company which will be able to make you own personal pickguard . Companies like Pickguard Heaven are reputable. I recommend under all circumstances, though, to AVOID Terrapin Guitar company as they are consistently guilty of poor workmanship.
