    Have you tried a fretless uke-bass? They are way fun to play especially in a big band/jazz setting.

    Did you get this sorted out? If not, I would switch out the TRS cable and also check for any connection issues within the XPS-DI.

    It's mostly snobbery really. After 20+ years as a Music Director, I can say that. No one looks down on the folks playing a Hammond organ or a Martin guitar. I say play the P-bass with pride. Not too much though... And pay your tithes!
