    I recently took up bass. I was quickly told about James Jamerson, the man whom reportedly played bass with his index finger. But, every piece of video I’ve seen seems to show him using several fingers. Am I wrong?

    I bought the DVD. He’s very good, but he’s more of a player than teacher. He goes 90 mph and for as someone green as I am, very discouraging. if you’re mid-level or better this is for you. As for me...makes me want to just... quit.

    From what I see is a lot of “you don’t do what i’m doing so you’re wrong.” Every great musician is usually unorthodox.
