I've been playing in 3 piece bands for over 30 years. As a bass player, ALWAYS stay in tight with the drummer. During the guitar solos, try some chording. (Have the drummer ride the cymbal during solos too.) A 3 piece band is not the place to go up top with lots of fills. Some are ok. Just keep...
