Its not the bass or the strings You need to increase the bass on your amp (in/out deep bass) button seems to have fixed my problem

You might try and increase the bass on your amp eg.(bass deep button) for more deep sound I did it on mine and the E string is much louder

wow, you've got good taste, i've just bought the exact same bass, they didn't have one in the store so there getting one in, should be here in a week (cant wait). got a great price on it aus $1400. hopefully i love it cos i aint buying any more basses, we pay too much for stuff in aus. cheers
