That good to hear. The PF 800 is deninately on my radar. Now I just need to find some of these heads out in the wild. Like I mentioned, the shops around me have hundreds of guitars but peanuts for amps.

I'm interested in the Quilter but I've read that the master control also controls the XLR out and could be a real headache when going to front of house. Have you had experience with this?

After all this discussion I'm leaning most towards the TH500 based on reliability, quality, and testomonial. I'm drawn to Ampeg as a classic brand and I love their tone but the reliability issues seem to be persistent. I have an Ampeg Scr-DI so I can color in those tones or even take it straight...

This is definitely not meant to be an Ampeg bashing thread at all. I love Ampeg! In a way I was hoping to learn that Aguilar is hype-heavy and the PF800 is the greatest class D ever (obviously reality is more nuanced).

Exactly! Why has the TH500 become the "SVT" of class D as opposed to Ampeg's offerings? I'm inclined to assume that the reliability issues around the Ampeg pf500 created a void that Aguilar stepped into with a quality alternative.

I know there has been a lot of discussion comparing class Ds TH500, PF800, Quilter BB800, Mesa Subway D-800 etc. but here is my new question: Why does it seem like a lot of touring pros are swapping their SVTs for Aguilar TH500s and not Ampeg PF800s or other class Ds? It seems like the industry...
